I didn't start with a seven-figure spa and a polished consulting framework. I started in 2014 as a solo esthetician renting a room in the back of a hair salon, betting on myself with zero guarantees. Just me, my treatment bed and a whole lot of hope.
In 2015 I opened my own space and hired my first few employees! In 2017, I acquired a bigger building, remodeled it and moved the spa there. In 2021 I completed a full remodel and doubled in size. And somewhere in between all of that growth, the hiring, the firing, the systems built from scratch, the staff who walked out, the sleepless nights, I hit a wall.
I was burned out. Completely.
I was the bottleneck in my own business. Everything ran through me. I couldn't step away without something falling apart. Sound familiar?
The turning point wasn't a magic moment. It was a decision…to stop trying to hold everything together by force and start building structure that could hold it for me.
I hired the right manager, the right team. I built real systems. I created a team that could actually run the show. And then I got on a plane to Europe.
Not because everything was perfect. But because I had finally built something that didn't need me every single minute of every single day.
